　アイドルグループ「AKB48」の姉妹グループとして新潟県を拠点に活動する「NGT48」の北原里英さんらメンバーが10月19日、東京都内で行われた「新潟米×NGT48」新米収穫発表会に登場した。記者発表会で、新米を使ったおむすびを食べたという北原さんは、「食べると甘くて、ペロリといただきました」とそのおいしさをアピール。

　この日は、北原さんのほか、中村歩加さん、佐藤杏樹さん、菅原りこさん、宮島亜弥さん、長谷川玲奈さんの6人のNGT48メンバーと、新潟の米農家ユニット「新潟ライスガールズ」らが出席。NGT48と新潟ライスガールズがコラボしたプロモーションビデオ（PV）を上映したほか、新米の試食などが行われた。

At the press conference, Kitahara – who had eaten omusubi (rice ball) cooked from new rice, appealed about the taste of this rice variety: “The rice is sweet, I ate it up in a delicious way.”
