深夜特急の沢木耕太郎は、著書の中で「旅の適齢期は26歳」と語っています。
まさにその言葉どおり、今から遡ること12年前──私がベトナムに渡る2〜3年前の26歳のとき、366日間・約30か国をめぐる世界一周の旅に出ました。
アジア、中東、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ、南米へ。
各地で出会った人々、文化、絶景──。
人生の価値観を大きく変えた原点の旅。その軌跡を振り返る、動画版ドキュメントです。
当初持参していたコンパクトデジカメは、ホーチミン市で盗難に遭ってしまい、
カンボジアで約1万円のソニー製コンデジ・サイバーショット「DSC-W710」を購入して撮影を継続しました。
一部の国では映像素材が残っていないため、今回は記録が残っている国を中心に構成しています。
ハンディカムではなく、コンデジでのビデオ撮影のため、画質の粗さや手ブレが目立つ箇所も多くありますが、
あえて当時の空気感を残すために、カットを入れずノーカットでお届けしています。
当時のリアルな旅の記録として、お楽しみいただければ幸いです。

Around the World, 366 Days – A Journey That Shaped My Life
In his travel memoir Deep River Express, Kotaro Sawaki wrote that “26 is the ideal age to travel.”
Looking back now, I couldn’t agree more.
Twelve years ago—before I moved to Vietnam—I set off on a journey around the world at the age of 26.
Over the course of 366 days, I visited 30 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and South America.
This video is a record of that life-changing journey—filled with unforgettable people, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cultures.
It was a trip that transformed my worldview and became the foundation of who I am today.
The original compact digital camera I brought with me was stolen in Ho Chi Minh City.
So I bought a Sony DSC-W710 for about $100 in Cambodia and continued filming.
As some footage was lost or never recorded in certain countries, this video focuses on the places where material still remains.
All footage was captured with a compact camera—not a camcorder—so please excuse the rough image quality and occasional shaky scenes.
In order to preserve the authenticity of that time, I’ve chosen to present everything as-is, in a raw, uncut format.
I hope this journey resonates with you, just as it did with me.
