The fast-paced Sky Italia thriller Devils follows as the ruthless CEO of a U.S. bank, played by Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy), and its head of trading (Alessandro Borghi, Suburra: Blood on Rome) end up involved in a financial crisis that has the potential to plummet Europe into economic ruin. Based on the best-selling novel by Italian trader Guido Maria Brera—which itself was partly inspired by the international financial meltdown of 2008—the ten-part series takes audiences behind the scenes of the complicated world of finance and sees its two main characters navigate not only their money problems but their complex relationship as well.
Starring alongside Dempsey and Borghi is Kasia Smutniak (Loro), and the trio tells TV Drama Weekly’s Mansha Daswani about how they prepared for their roles and why it’s important to understand the human stories behind the ebbs and flows of the world’s financial markets.
