This video introduces you to Mr. Keisuke Watanabe, one of Japan’s upcoming hopeful actors.
Keisuke was born to Japanese parents in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture. He was scouted when he was working as an administrative staff at his university’s festival production committee. His fellow students selected “Mr. et Miss. University” during the festival. Without Keisuke’s knowledge, he was voted as the most handsome male student, “Mr. University.” Keisuke had no idea of what was going on and later, he was told so. Encouraged by this incident, after graduating from the university, Keisuke joined a model agency in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture in the Tohoku region.
After working as a model in the Tohoku region for a few years, Keisuke transferred to a major talent agency in Tokyo. He hoped to work as a fashion model for a few more years, but “Kamen Rider Zi-O” was his first job assigned at his new agency. This TV series began broadcasting in 2018. Keisuke enjoyed performing in front of many people even as a little child, so becoming an actor came quite naturally to him.
Keisuke auditioned for fashion model jobs while acting in “Kamen Rider Zi-O” but with no luck. Being in “Kamen Rider Zi-O,” he enjoyed learning about how special effects are filmed and produced. He auditioned for the main character but didn’t get it. He played the role of Woz. From the 17th episode, Keisuke became a dual role with White Woz, who transforms into Kamen Rider Woz, which was challenging, he admits.
When Keisuke has time off, he travels around Japan, looking for his favorite food of natural salmon roe dish. He says Hokkaido is the best place for such a dish. He says that if he wasn’t so successful as an actor, he was thinking of starting a Japanese restaurant in his hometown of Sendai. As an actor, his current goal is to become like “Ryunosuke Kamiki” who was born in 1993, the same year as him, and who is a successful film actor who shares the same talent agency as Keisuke.
