An excerpt from the U.S. debut preview of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: The Super Live, performed in its original Japanese.
From the program: “One of the most popular manga of all time, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, written by Naoko Takeuchi, debuted in Nakayosi, a leading girls’ comic magazine published by Kodansha, in 1991. […] With its themes of love, justice and friendship, the musical features an all-female cast; male characters are also played by women.”
Characters include: Sailor Moon (The Planet of Love and Justice), Sailor Mercury (The Planet of Water and Intellect), Sailor Mars (The Planet of Fire and Passion), Sailor Jupiter (The Planet of Thunder), and Sailor Venus (The Planet of Love and Beauty).
The performance was brought to the U.S.A. as part of the 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival and the Japan Foundation’s “Japan 2019” series.
