Introduction to Drama in Education: The key components of drama. The workshop is an introductory session to drama in education and especially to the key components of drama. Among others the key components of drama are: Roles (not characters) - pursuing objectives and counter-objectives - slowing down time - under the pressure of constrains - in an episode with an event at the centre –revealing layers of meaning through actions, objects, images, body language and words .These components need a careful arrangement together with careful planning and
coherence by a drama teacher – anyone who wants to use drama with his/her group of young people or adults. The workshop will try to explore briefly these components of drama and initiate a theoretical and practical context for using drama in educational contexts.
