This contribution to Germany's most popular crime series gleefully explodes the format's conventions by delving headlong into the rush of contemporary urban life. A duo of grey-haired but still stalwart Munich cops are drawn into a series of murders linked to the town's corrupt gentrification schemes. The film lays out labyrinthine layers of history in a pulsating mosaic, teeming with life and laced with humour and melancholy.
