City Impression - Opening The Tower


The City Gallery is presenting a Thematic Exhibition on "City Impression - Opening The Tower".

The exhibition showcases 9 LEGO towers* which represent the outcome of 'Eurohigh' design studio at the Delft University of Technology earlier in Netherlands and 101 smaller scale LEGO towers, which young practitioners in architectural / environment and interior design / urban planning and students of design institute and universities in Hong Kong produced in a workshop run by MVRDV and The Why Factory during the Business of Design Week 2012.

TO complement the Thematic Exhibition on "City Impression - Opening The Tower", we are organising three workshop sessions for teenagers to experience lilfe as an arcthitect building your own towre from LEGO bricks. The workshops are free of charge. Led by previous workshop participants; the workshop allows the participants to understand the design principles of building up a tower.

We are glad to announce that the first planning and infrastructure gallery in Hong Kong, renamed as "City Gallery", located at 3 Edinburgh Place, Central, is officially opened on 20 August this year. Occupying five storeys with a floor area of more than 3,200 square metres, City Gallery is a unique exhibition venue offering a host of interactive exhibits to showcase Hong Kong's major planning proposals and infrastructure projects. It also shows you our city's future development outlook. City Gallery includes permanent and thematic exhibition area as well as Multi-purpose Hall, Resource Centre, Barrier-free Access and Facilities in order to give you a brand-new gallery experience. Admission is free. You are cordially invited to visit City Gallery and join the upcoming activities with us.
