2012年6月9日 東京都文京区の「東京ドームシティラクーアガーデンステージ」でAKB48初の演歌歌手として人気の岩佐美咲さん（１７）が「無人駅」の歌唱と総選挙の結果報告会を行いました。
イベントは”うれし涙”の雨模様となる中、ピンク色の着物で岩佐さんが登場。
これまでの総選挙では3年連続で”圏外”だった岩佐さんですが、
6月6日の「第4回AKB48選抜総選挙」では見事、33位にランクイン！
AKB48の総選挙の33位～48位で構成されるネクストガールズで
センターポジションを務めることになりました。
３３位という結果について
「３２位でも３４位でもセンターに立つことはできなかったので
すごく運がよかった。ＰＶで一番うつったり真ん中にいるわけで
信じられないし、今までそんなことをやらせてもらったことが
なかったので、自分でいいのかなというのが最初はあったんですけど
みなさんからいただいた票は胸を張れる物なので
自信を持ってがんばりたいと思います。」
「私はＡＫＢの活動だとあまり前に出れなったりとか
バラエティ番組でひな壇に座っているとなかなか自分から
しゃべったりできなかったんですけど、それじゃダメだと
今回の麻里子様の言葉もそうですし３３位というみなさんから
これだけ信じているというのを感じたのでこれまで次世代というのを
考えていなかったけどＡＫＢをまだまだ盛り上げていくために
私も前で活躍したいと今回感じたので
この票と順位と自信にして胸を張って積極的にＡＫＢで
やっていきたいと思います。」
