The show is set at an empty stage in a regional hall ahead of the 1,001st performance of a popular musical. The run was supposed to have ended with the 1,000th show and the set has been dismantled, but an extra performance has suddenly been added at the insistence of the lead actor. The production is beset by problems: it is short of money and staff, the stage manager is taking over for the first time, and neither the main actress nor the set has arrived just a few hours before curtain time. The determined staff work arduously to get the show up in time in boisterous song and dance. This pure entertainment celebrates the pride and passion of the unseen backstage forces who use their wits and wile to rise above their troubles to take an empty stage, assemble the set, bring the production to life, then empty the stage once more. Written by KURAMOCHI Yutaka and directed by LaSalle ISHII, it premiered at the Kanagawa Arts Theater in 2015. This video is from the subsequent revival.

『ミュージカル HEADS UP！』
舞台となるのは地方のとある会館。人気ミュージカルの1001回目の公演が始まるという空っぽのステージだ。実は1000回で公演は終了し舞台美術も廃棄済みだったが、主演俳優がどうしても追加公演を主張して、急遽やることになった。制作費が足りずスタッフも人手不足。舞台監督はメインは初めてという新人。ただでさえ不安なところに、主演女優は到着が遅れ、開幕数時間前だというのに舞台セットが到着していない！ 本当に幕が開けられるのかというトラブル続出だが、そこを何とか乗り切ろうとするスタッフたちの奮闘ぶりが、軽快な音楽とダンスを交えて描かれていくオリジナル・ミュージカル。からっぽの素舞台に始まって、大道具のセットが組まれ、本番を迎え、また空っぽの舞台に戻るまで、機転をきかせてトラブルを乗り越える、舞台を支える人たちの誇りと情熱が、エンタテイメント作品に凝縮された。脚本は倉持裕、演出はラサール石井。初演は2015年、KAAT神奈川芸術劇場プロデュースで、本映像はその再演版。
