Naomi Osaka was back on the court on Wednesday as the Japanese star nears a return to competitive tennis after a year off to give birth to her first child.

Osaka got in another training session in Brisbane, Australia, where she will make her comeback at the Brisbane International ahead of next month’s Australian Open.

Osaka announced days before last year’s Australian Open that she was pregnant and was taking a hiatus from the sport.

She and her boyfriend, the American rapper Cordae, welcomed their daughter Shai on July 7th.

Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner, is part of star-studded Brisbane International women’s draw that includes defending Australian Open champion and world no.2 Aryna Sabalenka, Karolina Pliskova, Victoria Azarenka and Madison Keys.
