NEMOTO Shuko started her theater company, GEKKAN NEMOTO SHUKO, when she was 19, and has written and directed all its works. She continually searches for new forms of expression, not only in theatrical performances but also in screenplay writing and new forms of musical plays with musicians.
To realize this play, despite the hindrances caused by COVID-19, all the actors rehearsed remotely and met in person for the first time on the night before the opening, which was streamed in real-time from an empty theater. The performance boldly reveals the production process, including a pre-show talk between NEMOTO and OMORI Seiko its music writer, and NEMOTO giving feedback to the actors for the next day’s performance after the play. This video presents the content as it was streamed.
The story is about two relationships: one between a man and a woman, and the other between two sisters. All are around the same age and have their own emotional struggles. What does it mean to love and care for one another? One who feels self-doubt and the other who cares for that person awkwardly try to find the right words for each other.

根本宗子『もっとも大いなる愛へ 』
劇団・月刊「根本宗子」 を１９歳で旗揚げし、全公演の作・演出を手掛ける根本宗子。演劇公演のみならず、映像作品の脚本や、ミュージシャンと新たな音楽劇を生み出すなど、常に新しい表現と向き合い続けている。
コロナ禍の逆境にも負けず公演実現に向け、稽古は完全リモート制、本番初日前夜に俳優同士の初顔合わせ、無観客の劇場からリアルタイム配信するスタイルに行き着いた本作。上演では、根本と楽曲を担当した大森靖子 の開演前トークや、根本から終演後の翌日に向けた俳優へのフィードバックの模様を本編と合わせて公開するなど、制作過程を大胆に披露した。今回は、実際の配信内容をそのままにお届けする。
葛藤を抱える同年代の男女と姉妹、それぞれの物語。愛することとは、他者を想うこととは何なのか、自己不全感を感じる側とその人を想う側が不器用なままに言葉を尽くし合い模索する―。
