Hugh Jackman got into amazing shape for Wolverine and Deadpool, but he had to eat a surprising amount of food to build his physique.
He ate around 6 meals per day, which typically came to around 6,000 calories.
Although eating 6,000 calories sounds like fun, it’s not from foods like donuts and pizza…
Most of his meals were made up of chicken & rice, and tilapia & beans, tilapia and beans.
Hugh had to stick to the diet for 6 months before filming, and continued dieting during filming to look as ripped as possible for the shirtless scene. He decided to save this scene for end of filming, unaware of the upcoming writers strikes.
As a result he had to continue his high calorie diet of tilapia and beans for an extra 3 months longer than planned!
