In this video, you will see how I use JR pass to go around Japan from the north (Hokkaido), all the way down to the south (Kagoshima). I’m a Japanese history mania so I visited lots of historical spots as well! Let me know what places you like the most, or where you would like to see me visiting next time!
Regarding the “business trip” part, I’ve been volunteering with this Japanese NGO called ASHA for more than half a year and recently they invited me to host a Design Thinking workshop (the one you saw in the video), plus one of their Japan company partners is also asking if I’m open to contract work, so that’s why I went to Japan during this time, but tbh I’ve been planning for this trip for a very loooooooong time!!
FYI here is my itinerary if you’re interested:
– Day 1: arrive at new Chitose airport → hotel at Chitose
– Day 2: train to Hakodate → Goryokaku → hotel at Morioka (Aomori in between)
– Day 3: Sendai castle → Odawara castle (Fukushima, Utsunomiya, Oomiya, Tokyo in between) → hotel at Shizuoka
– Day 4: Sumpu castle → Hamamatsu castle → hotel at Kagoshima (Himeji, Okayama, Horishima, Tokuyama, Fukuoka, Kumamoto in between)
– Day 5: Saga castle → Nagasaki Atomic Bomb museum → Nagoya (Maibara in between)
– Day 6: Kiyosu castle → Okasaki castle → Taiga drama museum
– Day 7: Gihu castle → Inuyama castle → Nagoya castle
– Day 8: Osaka (meetings)
– Day 9: Kameyama castle in Kyoto → Fushimimomoyama castle → Tokyo
– Day 10: Tokyo (workshop) → Haneda airport going home
