Eminent novelist and kun opera aficionado Professor Pai Hsien-yung, whose Peony Pavilion has enthralled audiences in the US and Europe, brings his latest production The Story of Jade Hairpin to the HKAF - a spectacular and breathtaking take on the timeless tale of youthful passion, forbidden love, forced separation and eventual reunion.

China's leading kun opera troupe, Suzhou Kun Opera Theater of Jiangsu Province, returns with a full-length masterpiece and an important collection of best-loved excerpts by literary giant Tang Xianzu that encapsulate the graceful purity of kun opera.
